The WellDiggers

The WellDiggers are a New York based roots-rock band founded and fronted by singer/songwriter, guitarist, Steve Welner. Along with Steve, the band features long time band member Don Gabis (bass, vocals), multi instrumentalist Bob Stander (Pete Townshend, Paul Townshend, The Platters) and Shawn Murray (late Willy Deville drummer). Their music is steeped in a wide Americana palette ranging from old-timey folk to full throttle rock ‘n roll. The songwriting often portrays themes related to the down-trodden, the vanishing landscape, the evils of corporate greed, political corruption, and hypocrisy in general.The band will be playing songs from Steve’s newly released self-titled album, “Sweet Simple Life” (2017) along with material from the WellDiggers and Fourteen Feet.
An annual gathering of Americana bands from down the road, upstate and downstate, and from all around the country, Livestock! Music Festival is a summertime ritual at the Finn family farm set a mile outside the hamlet of Bovina Center, New York.
